WHAT IS PACKET LOSS?
Packet loss happens when expected network packets do not successfully reach their destination.
WHEN DATA GOES MISSING
Networks divide traffic into packets. If packets are dropped because of congestion, interference, faulty hardware or routing problems, applications may retransmit data or conceal the loss. The result can be stutter, audio gaps, lag or reduced throughput.
WHY 0BPS DOES NOT FAKE IT
Normal browser JavaScript cannot send native ICMP probes or observe every packet on the path. 0bps intentionally does not label HTTP request failures as a universal packet-loss measurement. A future packet-loss module requires a technically valid WebRTC/TURN or equivalent measurement path.
High jitter, call glitches or game lag can suggest a delivery problem, but they do not by themselves prove packet loss.
