What the jitter value means
A low value means consecutive response times stayed close together. The displayed range shows the distance between the fastest and slowest raw samples.
Measure unloaded HTTP edge-latency variation with the same Cloudflare measurement engine used by the 0bps Speed Test.

HTTP edge jitter — not ICMP. Jitter is calculated from consecutive unloaded Cloudflare edge-latency samples; browser, Wi-Fi, VPN and routing conditions can influence the result.
Jitter describes variation between unloaded Cloudflare edge-latency samples. Lower variation generally produces smoother real-time interaction.

Up to about 5 ms is excellent, 5–10 ms is generally good, 10–20 ms deserves attention and sustained values above 20 ms can disrupt sensitive real-time traffic.
This is HTTP edge jitter, not universal packet timing. Browser scheduling, Wi-Fi contention, VPNs and transient routing changes can all influence the sample.
Repeat the test several times. If jitter stays high, compare a wired connection and check whether uploads, cloud sync or other devices are saturating the network.
0BPS SHOWS MEASURED OR CALCULATED FACTS SEPARATELY FROM INTERPRETATION. WHERE A RESULT IS ADVISORY, ESTIMATED OR DESTINATION-SPECIFIC, THE LIMIT IS STATED IN THE TOOL.
Jitter is variation between repeated latency measurements. A connection can have a good average ping but still feel unstable when latency changes sharply from one sample to another.
Yes. Consistent timing is especially useful for real-time traffic such as gaming, voice chat and video calls.
Jitter is the average change between consecutive unloaded Cloudflare edge-latency samples. Lower variation is usually better for real-time traffic.
This browser test reflects HTTP edge timing rather than native router-level ICMP measurements.
Short examples using the same units and assumptions as this module.
Samples around 18, 19, 18 and 20 ms have low variation.
Samples that jump between 20 and 100+ ms can disrupt voice, games and calls even if the average looks acceptable.
