WHAT IS JITTER?
Jitter describes how much repeated latency measurements vary over time.
NETWORK / CONSISTENCY
VARIATION MATTERS
Two connections can have the same average latency but feel very different. If one stays close to the same response time while the other jumps between fast and slow samples, the second connection has more jitter.
REAL-TIME IMPACT
Voice, video calls, cloud gaming and multiplayer traffic depend on timely delivery. High variation can create pauses, buffering or uneven interaction even when headline download speed looks strong.
INTERPRET WITH LATENCY
RUN JITTER TEST→Jitter is most useful beside average and minimum latency. A single isolated sample is not enough to diagnose consistency.
